Legend of Sorcier lake (Mastigouche reserve, Saint-Alexis-des-Monts)

It is said that, on île au Sorcier, lived an evil spirit who, at night, made strange noises and prohibited visitors from sleeping there.

During the day through, everything seemed calm; it looked like one of the most quiet places on Earth. But at night fall, it was misfortune to whoever defied his ban because the sorcerer would angrily show up!

Visitors would be ruthlessly drowned, with bags and boats in the deep waters of Sorcier lake.
